Passport Validity

Before you book your ticket, make sure your passport is valid for the period required by your destination country. Here are the minimum passport validity requirements:

  • Europe – Passport must be valid for at least 90 days after your return date
  • Turkey – You need at least 150 days of validity from your arrival date
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Requires 180 days of validity from arrival

Travel with an e-boarding pass to the Schengen area

Passengers with an electronic boarding pass on their phone can travel from Tirana International Airport to Schengen countries without needing to print their ticket anymore!

1.  If the airline offers this option, make sure your electronic boarding pass is on your phone.

2.  Scan it at the security checkpoint and at the boarding gate.

3.  Travel faster, with no need for extra paperwork!

3 hours before

Due to the high number of passengers, we recommend arriving at the airport (Tirana International Airport) at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure. This will ensure enough time for check-in, security procedures, and other necessary steps for a smooth travel experience. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Safe travels!

Avoid the line

If you already have your boarding pass on your phone and you’re only travelling with hand luggage, you’re good to go. Just head straight to the security checkpoint.

However, if you have checked baggage, please visit the airline’s check-in counter first to drop off your luggage and receive your printed boarding pass.

Important Update: UK Residence Cards Replaced by Digital E-Visa

The UK government no longer issues or accepts physical residence cards (BRP/BRC). All residence rights are now managed digitally through the UKVI online system as an E-Visa.

What this means for passengers

·        Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) – no longer valid (whether expired or still within date). These have been replaced by the E-Visa.

·        Biometric Residence Cards (BRC) – expired: no longer valid.

·        Biometric Residence Cards (BRC) – valid: still accepted for now, until fully replaced by the digital system.

·        Indefinite Leave to Remain stamps in passports: remain valid.

Using your E-Visa

·        Your residence status is stored online and can be viewed through your UKVI account.

·        To prove your right to live, work or rent in the UK, you must generate a share code through the online system.

·        The E-Visa is digitally linked to your passport or national ID card.

·        Border authorities and airlines can verify your status online using this share code.

Important distinction: E-Visa vs ETA

·        E-Visa – for residents of the UK under the EU Settlement Scheme or other immigration categories.

·        ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) – an entry permit for short visits (tourism, business, family visits) of up to 6 months, required for certain nationalities.

Passengers travelling to the UK are advised to check their immigration status in advance and ensure they have access to their UKVI online account before travelling.
