Tirana, 1 October 2019 – Air Albania has launched three new direct flights from Tirana International Airport (TIA), to Rome, Milan and Bologna.

These flights will be flown by a Boeing 737-800 named Migjeni, with year of production of 2016. There will be daily flights to Rome and Milan, and four times weekly to Bologna.

Migjeni is the second aircraft of the Air Albania fleet and joins Lasgush, which travels the route to Istanbul. A third aircraft, Naimi, will shortly be added for other European destinations.

“No later than December, Naimi will arrive in Tirana, the third aircraft of the Air Albania fleet that will fly to the cities most in demand in the Albanian market, including Brussels, Athens and, of course, London,” said Albania’s Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Mrs Belinda Balluku.

TIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Constantin von Alvensleben, said, “Today, we are very pleased, and consider it an achievement that in a single day, three new destinations have been launched by TIA. We wish Air Albania success in its ventures, and express our pleasure for the support of the governmental authorities in the development of the Airport.”

Air Albania CEO, Mr Sinan Dilek, focused on low prices, and described the arrival of Migjeni as an important moment in Albanian Aviation.

"For 69 euros, one can fly to Rome or Milan, and for 59 euros Bologna. These will be very high standard journeys, but at very low cost for our customers,” said Mr Dilek.

“Large projects are not undertaken without valued partnerships. We are grateful to Tirana International Airport for the support it has provided to Air Albania and for its development,” added Minister Balluku.
