Tirana International Airport welcomes first Israeli tourists on board Albawings

Tirana International Airport (TIA) welcomed today the first 130 passengers from Israel travelling on board Albawings.

To mark the occasion TIA held a small ceremony, for the beginning of the new route from the Tel Aviv to Tirana.

“Tirana International Airport is pleased to see the progress made by the Albania-based carrier Albawings, which was founded in February 2015. Along with other destinations, this airline is serving tourists from Israel and contributing thus to the growth of tourism in the country,” said Dr Rolf Castro-Vasquez, TIA’s Chief Executive Officer.

Albawings is a low-fare carrier based in Albania and has been connecting the country with destinations in Europe for the last three years. Albawings is committed to providing the most economic flights to and from Albania.

The charter flight from Israel is scheduled for Tuesdays and the airline will operate a Boeing 737 for the route throughout the summer.
