For persons who do not live in Belgium or the EU, and who do not have European citizenship:

You are only allowed to travel to Belgium if you have been fully vaccinated with an EMA-certified vaccine (Pfizer / BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca / Oxford (Vaxzevria), Janssen) or Covishield for more than two weeks and if you have a vaccination certificate issued by the relevant Albanian authorities. Minors who are not vaccinated, but traveling with their parents who are fully vaccinated, are allowed to follow their parents, but must submit a negative PCR test before arrival in Belgium (maximum 72 hours) if they are 12 years old above.

Test / quarantine:

• even though you are fully vaccinated, you will still need to be tested by PCR on day 1 or 2 AFTER you arrive in Belgium and remain in quarantine until you get a negative test result;
• you should also be tested again by PCR on day 7 AFTER your arrival in Belgium
• If you are not fully vaccinated, you can only travel to Belgium if your trip can be considered essential (please see: https://dofi.ibz.be/en/themes/covid-19/international -travels ). For permitted travel: the passenger is required to be in possession of a substantial travel certificate. This certificate is issued by the Belgian Embassy in Sofia to certify the essential nature of the trip.

In the following cases, passengers do not need to have proof of essential travel:

• The passenger holds a valid D visa issued by a Belgian diplomatic or consular office;
• The passenger holds a valid C visa issued after 18/03/2020 by a diplomatic or consular post of Belgium or another Schengen member state representing Belgium, if the essential nature of the trip is demonstrated by official documents in the passenger's possession;
• The essential nature of travel is demonstrated by official documents in the passenger's possession.

Test / quarantine:

• in case you are not fully vaccinated, you must be tested PCR maximum 72 hours BEFORE arriving in Belgium and submit a negative PCR test; children under 12 years of age are excluded from the PCR test;
• you must be quarantined for 10 days
• you must be PCR tested on day 1 or 2 AFTER arriving in Belgium;
• you will need to be tested again PCR on day 7 AFTER your arrival in Belgium; quarantine can be lifted earlier if the result of this last test is negative.

For persons living in Belgium and wishing to return to Belgium: DO NOT have to submit a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test before leaving for Belgium and are allowed to return to Belgium without preconditions as long as they can testify that they live in Belgium.

Test / quarantine:

If you have the vaccine:

• Test on day 1 or 2 after you return from your trip. Did you come out negative? You can then end quarantine as soon as you receive your test result.
• Test again on day 7.

Children under the age of 12 do not have to be tested, but will be quarantined when their parents are tested, awaiting test results.

If you do not have the vaccine:

• You must be quarantined for 10 days.
• Test on day 1 or 7 after you return from your trip.
• Quarantine can be shortened if the second test on day 7 is negative.

In addition to the conditions mentioned above, passengers must complete the Passenger Tracking Form (PLF) within 48 hours prior to arrival in Belgium.
