Tirane, Albania-13 May 2026 -Spain continues to be one of the most attractive destinations, offering a combination of cities rich in cultural heritage, Mediterranean beaches, culinary experiences, and tourism opportunities throughout the year. Wizz Air operates direct flights from Tirana to some of the most popular and preferred destinations in Spain, including Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Santander, Malaga, and Palma de Mallorca, offering Albanian travelers numerous opportunities to explore Spain’s most unique regions.

Turespaña, Wizz Air, and Tirana International Airport (TIA) organized a presentation event today in Tirana for Spanish destinations, bringing together media representatives, tour operators, tourism industry stakeholders, and institutional partners to celebrate the new destinations between Albania and Spain, as well as to explore new opportunities for strengthening tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.

“Thanks to the expansion of air connections, we are seeing a significant increase in tourism exchanges between our two countries. Currently, we have around 100,000 Spanish visitors choosing Albania as a destination, while approximately 40,000 Albanians travel to Spain.

I am very pleased with this increasingly close connection, as it contributes not only to the development of tourism but also to strengthening relations between our two countries,” said Gabriel Cremade, Ambassador of Spain to Albania.

“Spain offers an extraordinarily diverse tourism experience, from culture and gastronomy to beaches, nature, and urban getaways,” said Blanca Perez-Sauquillo, Tourism Counselor at the Embassy of Spain in Albania. “Through this presentation event, we are delighted to introduce some of Spain’s most attractive destinations to the Albanian market and further strengthen tourism relations between Spain and Albania.”

“Spain remains one of the most preferred destinations for Albanian travelers, and we are very pleased to make it possible to explore some of the most beautiful places in Spain,” stated Vera Jardan, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air. “Through our direct flights and affordable fares, we aim to make travel more accessible while simultaneously contributing to the growth of tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.”

Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operating Officer at Tirana International Airport, added:

“The continuous expansion of air connections between Tirana and Spain reflects the growing demand for travel between our countries and highlights the strategic role of aviation in economic and tourism development. We are pleased to support initiatives that bring together industry partners and promote Albania’s increasing integration with major European destinations.”

Most recently, Palma de Mallorca and Santander have been added to the list of Wizz Air destinations from Tirana, offering new alternatives for summer holidays and year-round exploration.

The continuous development of Tirana International Airport has also been supported by the strategic investments of the Kastrati Group, which have significantly contributed to the expansion of airport infrastructure, the increase of operational capacities, and the addition of new international destinations. This transformation has strengthened TIA’s role as a key regional hub for tourism and air connectivity in Europe.
