TIA, “Airfield 2020” Airfield Rehabilitation - First Phase in the final works

Tirana International Airport (TIA) is finishing the First Phase of one of the most important projects called "Airfield 2020" which is related to the rehabilitation of runway and taxiways that enable aircraft movement in the airside.

“Airfield 2020” project aims at coping with demand of future air traffic movements and will ensure full compliance with international standards of ICAO, EASA and Albanian regulations. The works in this first phase includes full reconstruction of Taxiway W and B and all related airfield lighting system works.

Tirana International Airport is lacking 98 percent of the passenger traffic due to COVID-19, but TIA is fully operational and uses the time for airfield construction works for making the airport ready for the new start.
