- TIA is constantly developing and achieving impressive results
- Albania now a step away from Venice

On 28 October 2012, Air One, a low-cost airline that is part of Alitalia Group, inaugurated a new route at Tirana International Airport (TIA). The new and welcomed destination is Venice, one of the world’s major tourist destinations. Air One now offers direct flights to Venice from TIA three times a week.
TIA welcomed Air One in March 2010 with routes to Milan and Pisa. Currently, Air One and Alitalia comprise 19 percent of the market share at the Airport, with 29 flights weekly, a figure that is a very good premise for further growth.
“When it comes to launching new routes, the essence of success is based on a single word—cooperation. There is no more valuable quality in business than in having the willingness of strong collaboration among partners: simply for the best. This is why I am happy to be part of today’s event, one that is a good example of our partnership with the airline companies Air One and Alitalia,” said TIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Andrea Gebbeken at the launch of the new route.
Since the beginning of the concession, in 2005, TIA has set new standards for air transport in Albania, with regard to both the quality of services and the frequency of use of the Airport. From 2005 until now, ten million passengers have flown into and from the Airport. Apparently those ten million passengers have helped spread the news around the world that Albania has a bright new Airport, and that Albania is a hot new destination. The achievements are the result of the Airport’s high standards and the excellence of its airlines.
