Tirana, October 11, 2026 – Tirana International Airport (TIA) announces the return of Air Transat on May 8, 2027, with direct flights between Tirana and Toronto and increased frequencies during the summer season.

According to the flight schedule for 2027, Air Transat will resume operations on May 8, with one weekly flight every Saturday. Starting June 22, frequencies will increase to two weekly flights, every Tuesday and Saturday, continuing throughout July and August. From September onwards, the airline will return to one weekly flight every Saturday, with operations scheduled until October 23, 2027.

The flight schedule for the 2027 season is presented in the table below:

Month - Operating days - Weekly frequency

• May - Saturday (from May 8) - 1 flight
• June - Saturday; Tuesday from June 22 - 1–2 flights
• July - Tuesday and Saturday - 2 flights
• August - Tuesday and Saturday - 2 flights
• September - Saturday - 1 flight
• October - Saturday (until October 23) - 1 flight

This expansion follows the airline's inaugural season of operations, which began on June 19 and concluded on October 9, 2026. The first direct air connection between Albania and Canada marked a significant milestone in the country's intercontinental connectivity, creating new travel opportunities for the Albanian diaspora, international tourists, and passengers from across the region.

The increased frequencies during the summer 2027 season will offer greater flexibility for passengers and further strengthen connections between Albania and Canada, while supporting tourism development and reinforcing TIA's position as a key gateway to the Western Balkans.

Tickets for the 2027 season are available for booking through Air Transat's official website: https://www.airtransat.com.

The conclusion of Air Transat's inaugural season does not mark the end of this connection, but rather the beginning of a long-term partnership aimed at further developing air connectivity between Albania and North America.

Tirana International Airport extends its appreciation to Air Transat for its cooperation throughout the inaugural season, as well as to all passengers who chose this route. TIA looks forward to welcoming the airline back in 2027 and continuing this partnership to expand travel opportunities between the two countries.
