Tirana, 2026 – Tirana International Airport (TIA) and the National Tourism Agency (AKT) today formalised their cooperation to promote Albania as a tourism destination and contribute to increasing international visitor numbers.

The event was attended by representatives of Tirana International Airport and the National Tourism Agency, including TIA Administrator Marsida Pallko, Chief Operating Officer Piervittorio Farabbi, and AKT Director General Jola Hysaj.

The partnership focuses on developing joint marketing initiatives, promoting air services, and supporting the launch of new destinations and routes to Albania. The parties will exchange data and information on air traffic, destinations, tourism markets, accommodation providers, travel agencies, and tour operators, creating a stronger foundation for identifying markets with high potential.

Their coordinated efforts will focus on developing new tourism markets and establishing new direct air connections through cooperation with airlines, tour operators, and international tourism boards. The parties will coordinate joint promotional initiatives, participation in international trade fairs and events, familiarisation trips, and influencer campaigns. They will also exchange data on markets, air traffic, and tourism potential, with the aim of increasing visitor numbers and diversifying tourism source markets.

As part of this partnership, TIA and AKT will also hold meetings with airlines, tour operators, and international tourism boards to expand the flight network and create new opportunities for tourism development.

This cooperation aims to strengthen the connection between air transport and tourism development, making Albania more accessible and raising its profile in international markets, while offering a more complete experience for visitors who choose the country as their destination.
