TIA Selects NAITEC for Its New Operational System

Tirana, May 18, 2026 – NAITEC, a company specialized in the digitalization of airport processes, has been selected by Tirana International Airport (TIA) to develop and implement a new Airport Management System (AMS), which will support the airport’s long-term growth and development.

Under the management of Kastrati Group since 2020, Tirana International Airport has consolidated its position as a regional aviation hub, reaching a total of 11.6 million passengers in 2025 — a 249% increase compared to 2019 — and confirming its status as the leading airport in the Western Balkans.

The continuous growth in passenger traffic has been accompanied by significant investments in infrastructure, the expansion of the passenger terminal, and increased operational capacity, with a constant focus on improving the passenger experience.

Within this development framework, TIA has selected NAITEC as a strategic partner for the implementation of a modern and integrated platform that will automate and coordinate the airport’s core operational processes within a single system. The new Airport Management System will enable real-time coordination between the airport, Air Traffic Control (ATC), airlines, and operational services, while also improving airport resource management and optimizing operational efficiency.

A key component of the system will be the FIDS (Flight Information Display System), through which passengers will receive real-time updates regarding arrivals, departures, and airport services. The platform has been designed as an automated system capable of supporting the continuous growth of air traffic and the airport’s modern and sustainable development in the years ahead. The automation of processes, starting from seasonal flight planning, will ensure continuous resource planning updates and full coordination among all airport stakeholders.

Alberto Torresan, CEO of NAITEC, stated:

“Tirana International Airport’s decision to rely on our company and on the Airport Management System we have developed reflects the airport’s forward-looking vision. By embracing a digital platform capable of effectively and continuously supporting operational improvements, TIA is investing in the future. We are pleased and enthusiastic to begin this collaboration, which will involve an intensive schedule of activities between Venice and Tirana, with the goal of implementing the first modules of the new management system by June, in line with the peak summer flight season.”

Meanwhile, Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operations Officer at TIA, added:

“Tirana International Airport has selected NAITEC for the implementation of a modern Airport Management System (AMS), driven by the significant growth in air traffic and the expectation of reaching 13 million passengers in 2026.

TIA — under the investment of Kastrati Group — is advancing toward integrated solutions aimed at optimizing operations and ensuring the efficient use of airport assets.

NAITEC’s technical team has already begun on-site installation, while the development will continue in several phases, covering all operational aspects.

TIA remains committed to innovation and to maintaining high standards of service and passenger comfort. Our goal is to be a leading airport in operational efficiency and service quality for our customers and passengers.”
