Tirana, 16 December 2025 — Tirana International Airport (TIA) today marked the inaugural flight of Wizz Air’s new direct route connecting Tirana with Cologne, further strengthening air connectivity between Albania and Germany and expanding TIA’s growing network of European destinations.

The inaugural flight was celebrated at Tirana International Airport in the presence of TIA management, Wizz Air base representatives, the Wizz Air crew, TIA Ambassadors, and members of the media. As part of the welcoming ceremony, departing passengers were greeted with sweets, while flowers were presented to the flight crew, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere for this new route launch.

The Tirana–Cologne route will operate three times per week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, offering passengers greater flexibility and improved access to one of Germany’s key metropolitan areas.

The launch of this route reflects the strong and ongoing partnership between Tirana International Airport and Wizz Air, as well as the continued demand for travel between Albania and Germany, both for leisure and business purposes.

At the conclusion of the event, Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operating Officer of Tirana International Airport, highlighted the importance of the new connection:
