- TIA continues efforts to welcome more tourists in the summer
ITB Berlin 2014, the prestigious world tourism trade fair, hosted the joint participation of the Albanian National Tourism Agency, Tirana International Airport (TIA) and 18 tour operators. Together these partners presented to the world-wide tourism industry Albania as a new and exciting tourism destination.
The involvement of TIA at ITB Berlin is part of the airport’s strategy to meet major international organisations and tourism stakeholders to promote the country more effectively in the international tourism market.
“We are very happy that we have contributed in conveying a positive message of Albania as a country with good potential in tourism. We witnessed much interest of the media and, hopefully, all our efforts will bring good results in welcoming more tourists this summer,” said Chief Executive Officer of TIA, Mr Rolf Castro-Vasquez.
At ITB, a press conference was held by TIA and its partners with representatives of the international media, including journalists from the German tourism market. The Airport supported the event through its organization and presentation of Albania as an interesting tourism destination.
The press conference was given by Albania’s Minister of Urban Development and Tourism, Mrs Eglantina Gjermeni, Ambassador in Berlin, Mr Artur Kuko, Director of Communication of Tirana International Airport, Mrs Arlinda Çausholli, and Director of the National Tourism Agency, Mrs Julinda Dhame.
