Albawings begins new flight between Tirana International Airport and Düsseldorf

Albawings began on Sunday, 2 June 2019, a new service connecting Tirana with the German city of Düsseldorf. The route will operate three weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays. Seats on the new route are now for sale on the company website.

“This is great news for all of us. We will have a busy summer and many destinations to serve. I am pleased for all of the Albanians who live near Düsseldorf, because they will now be closer to their families, and I wish Albawings the very best for its new route,” said the Chief Executive Officer of Tirana International Airport, Dr Rolf Castro-Vasquez.

“The new route is the latest move in Albawings’ ambitious and dynamic programme of fleet and network expansion. New flights to and from Düsseldorfare a particular highlight of the upcoming summer schedule. They will be available also in the winter flight schedule, aiming to strengthen the bridges between Albania and Germany, making each country easy to reach and visit,” said Albawings CEO, Mrs Anila Rama.

Mr Blendi Klosi, Minister of Tourims and Environment participated in the ceremony.

The city of Düsseldorf lies in the west of Germany and is known for its fashion industry and arts scene. It is divided by the River Rhine, with the Old Town (Altstadt) on the east bank and the modern commercial area on the west. Altstadt is home to St. Lambertus Church and Castle Tower (Schlossturm) both dating to the 13th century. Streets such as Königsallee and Schadowstrasse are lined with boutique shops.

Tickets can be bought at www.albawings.com, according to information published by the company.

In addition, Albawings is planning to launch at the beginning of 2020 other direct flights to Germany, to places such as Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
