Kastrati group, has signed today in the premises of the "Mother Teresa" airport, in Tirana, an important agreement with the French conglomerate Lagardere, for the development of joint efforts to further expand the activity of duty-free shops and retail throughout Albania.
The agreement was signed by the president of the Kastrati group, Mr. Shefqet Kastrati and Mrs. Catherine Guyomard, Head of the Executive Committee of Lagardère Travel Retail (retail division of Lagardère).
The President of the French Republic, H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron and the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama were present during the ceremony.
This cooperation comes in the framework of the extraordinary increase in the number of tourists visiting Albania. Only the summer season has been a surprising one, which brought a doubling of the income from tourism in the economy, as well as an increase in the number of tourists who visited Albania, compared to a year ago. The agreement signed between the Kastrati group and Lagardère Travel Retail consists in the expansion of the retail activity and scope of the duty-free service in all border points and the main tourist centers in Albania. These two groups are committed to significantly increase the quality of the service as well as the variety of products in addition to the expansion.
Kastrati group was founded in 1991 and today develops its activity throughout the Balkan region employing over 4000 employees. The Kastrati Group, known mainly for the wholesale and retail trade of hydrocarbons, develops an important activity in areas such as: insurance, construction, infrastructure, tourism, vehicle industry, etc.
Lagardère is an international group based in France that operates in the field of retail, publishing, media and distributions. Their travel retail division is in 42 countries and operates duty-free stores in more than 200 airports in France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Holland, North America, etc. The group's range of activities also includes presence in important French media such as Paris Match, Le Journal du Dimanche, Europe 1, Europe 2, RFM etc.
