- National carrier will operate route with an ATR72
On 23 September 2014, Tirana International Airport (TIA) will inaugurate a new route between Tirana and Belgrade. Air Serbia, the national carrier, will operate the route three times per week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays—with an ATR72.
“We are very pleased to be launching this route. We believe that the benefits will include stimulation of commercial trade between Albania and Serbia, and bring an additional value to our Airport and to the economy in general,” said TIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Rolf Castro-Vasquez.
Air Serbia’s Chief Executive Officer, Dane Kondi?, said, “This new service will provide customers from Tirana increased travel options and enhanced connections through our Belgrade hub to 38 business and leisure destinations across the Balkan region, Europe and the Mediterranean.”
An official statement from the carrier says that tickets can be purchased by contacting Air Serbia’s Call Centre at +381 11 3112123 from abroad, or 0800 11 528 from with Serbia (free call number) or visiting its web site (www.airserbia.com) or any of its offices or authorized travel agents.
The new route brings the number of foreign destinations reached by direct flight from Tirana to 20.
TIA is managing the summer season well, and offers consistent high standards of security, service and comfort for all of its customers.
